Adam Brooks is one for following the rules.
Not the inherent rules set out by law enforcement and people he is far above, no. Those are all based on an unwavering idea of morality that Adam refuses to see as productive. No, he's one for following the rules his mind has constructed in order to further himself towards a goal. These are rules that are based on his observations of the world around him, ones that make sense and help him make sense to others.
The rules help him look like a normal person. They're honestly quite helpful in a place like this, where Adam doubts his appearance would be taken well. Barnaby certainly hadn't taken it well, but Adam couldn't imagine any scenario where he would. It's not everyday your brother comes back from the dead, after all. That is, regrettably, a rule Adam has had to break.
But other rules have been easier to follow. They remind him to remove Barnaby's clothes so he can wear them as a disguise, without anyone asking about any regrettable blood stains. They remind him to walk like his brother and talk like him instead of screaming for revenge. He is cautious and careful.
Kotetsu will be found first. He needs to check on him and gain his trust immediately, so that he has someone to back him up. To laugh off his strangeness towards other prisoners in this strange castle as social ineptitude. Toshi will be found afterwards, with Kotetsu still at his side. He doubts his disobedient slave will rebel for a second with Kotetsu already in his grip. He'll be sweet and kind to both of them, just as Barnaby would. Follow the rules. Soon enough his opportunity will come to strike.
So those who are around the hallways may see someone very much like Barnaby walking over to his room, straightening his clothes before peering inside in his search for Kotetsu.
After his reunion with his dearest partner and the android made in his image, 'Barnaby' will be all over the castle. He adores the library as much as he always has, and seems to have picked up cocking as well. He is deliberately careful to stay quiet and calm, so only those with a sharp eye will notice anything strange. For example, that bunch of berries from the garden can't be used as an ingredient in his soup, right? They're poisonous... Some may find it odd to find him coming out of the armoury with a crossbow, or practicing violin in the music room.
Or perhaps you may catch him wandering up the stairs leading down to the basement late at night. What would he be doing down there? Surely it's not a bad thing to ask.
((Okay, let's see if I can get this asshole to cooperate with me this time! Adam Brooks is impersonating his brother, Barnaby, and will be friendly to most everyone he runs into, if a little forgetful. Should anyone notice his odd behaviour, though, he may be forced to do something not so nice... so a trigger warning for possible character mutilation and death in here, as well as psychological mindfuckery which happens with a character like Adam. Should you not want him to tag you, please message this account to let me know!))

Date: 2017-06-15 03:27 am (UTC)Even as he's doing that, he's raising his gun. Apparently, he's taken the skeleton off guard somehow, and he won't waste that chance.
"Oh, you won't be for long."
Two quick rounds are fired off.

Date: 2017-06-15 03:46 am (UTC)Fortunately, Sans can be faster than a bullet under the right circumstances, and doesn't even need to be entirely conscious of the danger to accomplish as much. He just needs to be mostly conscious of it, and that's not a problem with something like Adam in front of him. Besides, these bullets are just...things. No intentions behind them, no soul. So at this distance, they have no chance of reaching him.
Adam will see Sans seem to slide through space, fast enough to blur, and yet he doesn't seem to take a step. When the moment of twisting space ends, once the bullets have passed harmlessly by him, Sans is standing right back where he was with the skulls at the ready. The skeleton's eyesockets are empty now, two pools of shadow made even deeper by the light building in the blasters.
"Bye."
They both fire, twin beams of searing light hitting Adam squarely.
But to Adam, the light will feel no more painful than briefly scalding his hand on a hot pan.

Date: 2017-06-16 04:30 am (UTC)Who's there? Who's there?
It's second nature to struggle against their chains at this point, teeth snapping uselessly against metal and snarling, eyes flicking to Barnaby to see how he's reacting, if he can even notice at this point.
(They don't know the sound of Blasters. They'd be doing even worse if they did.)

Date: 2017-07-16 10:14 pm (UTC)"Shh, Frisk, don't..." he mutters, even as the sound of fighting gets louder.
Adam, meanwhile, is taken very off guard by the blast, and cries out for a moment at the shock of it all... but after a moment, he realizes all he feels is a slight burn. His clothes are barely singed. He looks down at his barely red hands, then back up at the skeleton, and lets out a laugh that leaves Barnaby shivering.
"I'm not going anywhere until you're dead!" He flings himself down the stairs towards Sans, another shot fired in the hopes that the skeleton will be too busy running to dodge.

Date: 2017-07-21 07:33 pm (UTC)Then he hears footsteps pounding down the stairs behind him. Sans turns, and his eyesockets go wide with alarm. How much HP does Adam have?
"w-what...?"
He doesn't need to move to dodge the bullet. Space and time do the job for him, an instinct more natural to him than breathing. But that means that when he's finished dodging, he's right back where he was standing before, and only just starting to recover his shock. Only just starting to fully appreciate how scared he is, to have a fully grown and unspeakably twisted human bearing down on him.
By then, with his long legs, Adam should easily be close enough to grab onto the intruder.

Date: 2017-08-20 05:28 pm (UTC)He takes advantage of the intruder’s shock to grab hold of his spine. Barnaby tries to shout something, but nothing but a croak comes out.
“Are you able to do your little disappearing act while I hold you, or do you surrender?” Adam demands, anger overwhelming his curiosity.

Date: 2017-08-20 07:31 pm (UTC)The human is touching him. Sans is absolutely sure for a moment that he must be dead. He stands frozen, staring up at Adam with empty eyesockets, before it finally sinks in that he can't feel himself bleeding. That...is genuinely a surprise.
He draws in a deep, shuddering breath, and forces a smile and a shrug. He keeps his arms spread wide, his hands open.
"ah...nope. not a whole lot i can do when you're holding me. so, uh, yeah. if surrendering is an option, i surrender."
Anything to buy him more time. Anything to figure out a way to strike.
"maybe there's been a misunderstanding, yeah? maybe we can just talk all this out."
Maybe if he can just get this human to let his guard down for half a second...

Date: 2017-08-21 11:37 pm (UTC)“At any other time, I may have let you do so, but… I’m afraid my holding cell is getting full. And it seems like you wouldn’t stay in restraints anyways.” He leans a little closer, studying the monster intently.
“I would very much like to see how in the world your powers work… perhaps if I can keep a grip on you, I can manage to see a little more of what’s going on in that empty skull.”
It appears that to him, talking this out isn’t an option.
