It's their birthday today.

They kind of wanted to do something for it--bake something, invite a few friends together to play a game, but they can't. They're still dealing with the aftereffects of being hideously sick, and can't help feeling too tired to do much.

That's fine. Nobody--well, almost nobody knows when it is besides them. And they sure don't look probably-eleven, they're still nine-sized...and that's thoughts for some other day.

Frisk's dragged a few giant cushions out into were the sun is, have a blanket to wrap around themselves, just in case. They'll spend the day (what's left of it; they woke up early afternoon) doing their best to just...relax.

They've still got the sun on their face, so they don't mind.

"Hi, Kid." Frisk smiles up at them tiredly. "I am tired. Jus' got done with being sick. Don't think you're gonna catch it, though," they're quick to reassure.

Patpatpat. This is dinosaur feet trying to be quiet. It's a bit better. They plop down on their bum a little ways from Frisk, also in the sun. Sick all alone without their mom, that sounds awful. No one to heal them or make those special pies. "Monsters don't catch germs from humans. Are you okay??"

"Oh. That's good."

(Maybe that's why Chara was surrounded by Dreemurrs in the end. Nobody had anything to fear from them.)

"'M okay. Just...tired," they repeat lamely. "Being sick really sucks. Snot's gross."

"Oh, yeah! Pretty gross. ...I hope you didn't throw up! That's even grosser!"

What a gross thing to bring up.

Frisk makes a face. "Won't. That was just at the start of being sick. The weird dreams and nose stuff was worse."

"Gross! You really did throw up? I'm sorry, dude."

Come to think of it, they've probably never seen anyone be sick. Definitely nasty to think that it's a thing that happens.

Frisk covers their face. Please, don't remind them.

"Better now," they re-assert. "Not going to...stay in the rain again."

Instead of twiddling their fingers (impossible, for obvious reasons), their toe-claws fiddle with each other. Isn't that an awful thing to learn?

"...you'd better not, if rain made you sick and not all the germs!"

They're still hiding their face with an arm. They use the other one to point vaguely upward. "It...made it worse. Made it easier--made germs get me easier."

It's been a long time since they were in school, or watched random documentaries on TV. But they think that's right.

"How?? I read stuff gets moldy faster when it's warm, not cold!"

That was another horribly gross thing to learn--that human food spoils and grows terrible awful icky fuzz all over it. Ew ew ew.

Frisk's face cracks into a smile at the ridiculousness.

"Didn't get moldy. Mold's not...germs. Both kinda gross though," they add.

"So... wait, wait." They're fidgeting with their own toes again, thinking...

"Does that mean human food in the fridge is full of germs? That's gross, dude!"
