[Open/Mingle] Friends, beauties, castle denizens, lend me your ears

Today in the castle, a number of long sheets of paper have gone up in various well-trafficked locations. They all read the same:

ATTENTION BEAUTIES OF THE CASTLE!!
SIGNUPS ARE HERE FOR THE GREATEST SPECTACLE THE CASTLE HAS EVER KNOWN:
THE TALE OF SIR METTATON THE MAGNIFICENT AND HIS DARING QUEST FOR ADVENTURE AND ROMANCE!!
WRITTEN BY METTATON AND RYOJI MOCHIZUKI!
WITH ACTING, SCENERY, COSTUMES, AND MORE BY YOU!!!!
SIGN UP BELOW:

A pen and inkwell have been left on a table beneath each sheet. Anyone able to read the message will note that while Ryoji's name is written in blue and in the extremely tidy script of someone who doesn't write by hand often, Mettaton's name is massive, magenta, and surrounded by hearts.

Nearby, there just might be an enthusiastic robot and/or teenager lingering to see just how this latest project of theirs is going over.

"I was just about to say!" Mettaton turns a big smile to Ryoji. "Great minds think alike, don't they, darling?"

And back to Fidget. "You wouldn't mind showing us your fire and electricity, would you?"

[prospectornimbat]

"Well, be careful. I'm going to aim over here." Just to be sure, she checks the floor. Nothing that seems likely to catch on fire, okay...

"Pah!" The fire follows the same arc as the light did before fizzling out on the floor.

[notsogrimreaper]

Ryoji applauds enthusiastically.

"That looks amazing! And it'd be a really cool spell to use onstage. As long as we didn't actually light anything on fire..."

[mediadarling]

"We'll just make sure to do the blocking so that nothing flammable is in the way. And if there's an accident, well, Grune can put it out."

He's seen her in action and it's quite impressive.

"Now, what about electricity?" he asks Fidget.

[prospectornimbat]

"You're seriously going to want to stand back for this one. Pah!" A ball of lightning, blue and crackling, pops out of her mouth and hovers in place. "It stays in place, but then I can do this!" Gripping the desk as much as she can with her hind paws, she flaps her wings and the ball drifts forward.

[notsogrimreaper]

Ryoji dutifully takes a step back, but is back to oohing and ahing as she creates a ball of lightning and is able to slowly move it around.

"It's really pretty!"

[mediadarling]

"Very," Mettaton agrees, thinking hard.

"So, sweetheart, how large can you make those?"

A wicked magician would be the perfect obstacle for Mettaton the Magnificent to face on the way to rescue his one true love!

[prospectornimbat]

"I can stretch them pretty far," Fidget says, just slightly buttered up. "Only, there needs to be a target on the other side."

[notsogrimreaper]

"Well, as long as it doesn't need to be a living target, we could set up sandbags or something to absorb your attacks!"

Ryoji can feel his excitement growing. Those giant balls of light would look incredible onstage!

[mediadarling]

"That's perfect!" Mettaton beams at Ryoji, then turns to Fidget. "Welcome to the special effects crew, darling! I don't suppose you feel like signing up for anything else while you're at it, do you?"

[prospectornimbat]

"Like what? What's this thing about, anyway?"

[notsogrimreaper]

"Like actors and set designers and stage crew... We haven't written the play yet, but I guess it's going to be a romance and adventure?"

He's not blushing at the romance bit. Not really.

[mediadarling]

"That's right, darling! It's about the adventures of Sir Mettaton the Magnificent as he sets off to rescue his one true love from an evil villain!" Mettaton explains, clearly very taken with his own ideas.

[prospectornimbat]

"Uh-huh," says Fidget, possibly not sounding quite so taken. "Who's that?"

[notsogrimreaper]

"It's Mettaton, of course! He'll be playing Sir Mettaton."

Ryoji beams, apparently not all that concerned that Fidget didn't even know who Mettaton was.

[mediadarling]

"And Ryoji will be the love interest," Mettaton adds. His wide smile suggests he's no less taken with this idea than the other.

[prospectornimbat]

"No, no, who's the villain?" Y'know, the fun part!

[notsogrimreaper]

“I don’t know if we have a villain cast yet. We have a lot of actors, though, so I guess we’ll have to consider which one would be the best for the part!”

[prospectornimbat]

"I would like to volunteer!" Fidget announces.

[mediadarling]

"You'd like to--hmmm."

His first thought had been to wonder just how to make Fidget of all monsters look intimidating, but...she does have those special effects. (Maybe if they pretended she was invisible?)

"I think we can work with that."

[notsogrimreaper]

“I think you’d make a good villain! At least, you could provide the magic and the voice… maybe we’ll make a bigger costume so you look just a little more scary and intense.”

[prospectornimbat]

"What if the villain is a disarming shapeshifter, huh? No one would ever expect."

[mediadarling]

"Ooh, she does have a good point, Ryoji-darling."

They could work with this...!
