[Open/Mingle] Friends, beauties, castle denizens, lend me your ears

Today in the castle, a number of long sheets of paper have gone up in various well-trafficked locations. They all read the same:

ATTENTION BEAUTIES OF THE CASTLE!!
SIGNUPS ARE HERE FOR THE GREATEST SPECTACLE THE CASTLE HAS EVER KNOWN:
THE TALE OF SIR METTATON THE MAGNIFICENT AND HIS DARING QUEST FOR ADVENTURE AND ROMANCE!!
WRITTEN BY METTATON AND RYOJI MOCHIZUKI!
WITH ACTING, SCENERY, COSTUMES, AND MORE BY YOU!!!!
SIGN UP BELOW:

A pen and inkwell have been left on a table beneath each sheet. Anyone able to read the message will note that while Ryoji's name is written in blue and in the extremely tidy script of someone who doesn't write by hand often, Mettaton's name is massive, magenta, and surrounded by hearts.

Nearby, there just might be an enthusiastic robot and/or teenager lingering to see just how this latest project of theirs is going over.

Aaron, confused and camera(crowd?)-shy as he is, still signs up-

I can be first aid, written in a messy doctor's scrawl, so what he has written is up to interpretation-- he can be placed in near any position and will likely be too swept up in it to make much fuss.

As soon as he sees the young man from his party with a particular interest in Batman sign his sheet, Mettaton strikes--by striding forward, all smiles.

"We meet again, darling!" he calls out. "Tell me, what role--or roles--have you signed up for? No need to limit yourself to only one!"

He leans in to read the piece of paper...then blinks. And blinks again.

...What is that?

[exuviiated]

Aaron stands by awkwardly as Mettaton, to no avail, gallantly attempts to decipher his writing.

"I-- first aid. I can do first aid. If you want. I'm really no good at acting, but I figured that you might want someone to watch over the set and make sure nobody gets hurt. Or, help them if they do."

It's a paltry explanation. But it's the best he can do right now, so forgive the stuttering.

[notsogrimreaper]

"Honestly, we probably do need someone in case of an emergency. I don't think anything bad will happen, but it's always good to be safe! Good idea, um... sorry, I didn't get your name! I'm Ryoji Mochizuki."

He smiles gently and politely, trying to be reassuring, since it seems the other guy is nervous.

[mediadarling]

"It never hurts to be prepared," Mettaton adds. "But while you're there anyway, why not take on another role?"

If he himself can do it all, surely Aaron can do a mere two things.

[exuviiated]

"Hi, Ryoji." He holds his hand out to shake, more out of instinct than anything else. "I'm Aaron. Barnett, but it doesn't seem like surnames matter much around this place anyways."

He smiles back, matching Ryoji as well as possible. "I'd just like to stay as much in the background as possible. I find it much more fun to watch, besides."

[mediadarling]

"Of course, beautiful," Mettaton puts in. "There's no point in having a play if there's no audience, now, is there?"

He thinks for a moment. "Hmm...." What's a good background role for this young man? "How are you at sewing?"

[exuviiated]

"Sewing's kinda--" girly. Not like sewing up wounds at all. (That's a lie.) "Not my strong point. But if you want me to, I bet I could find some books on it in the library."

[notsogrimreaper]

"Aaron-san, then." Ryoji smiles to be properly introduced, before the mention of sewing distracts him.

"I actually know a lot about sewing, but if you aren't interested in that, you could help paint the set or work backstage."

[mediadarling]

And just like that, Mettaton's attention has left Aaron entirely. "Oh my, you've been holding out on me, gorgeous! You and I are going to have to have a serious talk about design later on."

How his costar just got more wonderful is beyond him, but here they are!

[exuviiated]

"I can." He pauses. "Sew. Or help backstage. Put me anywhere you need me, really, I can do anything, as long as you teach me. The sewing bit, at least."

Oh, boy, he certainly isn't all that fantastic at keeping his pace steady, is he?

[notsogrimreaper]

"Ah, not really! I'm not even that impressive... I just like to sew."

Ryoji tries desperately to get things back on track.

"I'd love to teach you, if you want. But for now, I think you'd be a perfect fit for backstage. I feel safer already, knowing you'll be around!"

[mediadarling]

"And so do I," he adds. "And if you happen to decide sewing or painting or anything else is for you--well, we're always happen to add you to another team!"

Hint, hint.

[exuviiated]

"To someone who doesn't know how to sew," he gestures to himself, "that's pretty darn impressive."

He smiles. "Prop crew? I'm sure I'll find plenty to do." Which may or may not include micromanaging every second to ensure things go flawlessly; while he's a little unsure now, he's sure that once he gets involved the investment factor will grow.

[notsogrimreaper]

"Well, as long as you're happy with whatever you do! I'm really glad you decided to sign up and help us out."

Ryoji gives a happy grin. He can kind of tell the guy was nervous, but it's nice to see those fears disappearing slightly.

"As am I. Welcome to the team, beautiful!" Mettaton adds, beaming away with his most charming smile.
