There will be no warning before he's in their arms, held tight against their chest as they tremble. The child doesn't know who they are, but that's alright, they'll follow this skeleton who knows they're there and can even touch them anywhere in the universe if it means they aren't left alone.
They step back, not letting go of his fingerbones, and point towards the stairs downwards questioningly. The subway's a good way to go anywhere in the city, after all.
