The only time desserts get left out like this is if people are already having the main meal elsewhere, but...typically the location of the real meal wouldn't be so far away from the party room that they wouldn't have at least passed a waiter or two. Sure, the castle seemed huge enough for it to be plausible but rich people are typically pretty whiny about this stuff. Jake shoves his hands in his pockets.]
