Mettaton tries his best to gently pick up the elder monster, carry him over to his bed, and set him down without hurting him as much as possible.

Making sure he's as comfortable as he can possibly be, the glambot kneels down next to the bedside and sits in silence for a few moments.

What does he say? What can he say? He doesn't want to bother Gaster, to make him communicate when that obviously causes him pain.

So for now, he simply holds one of Gaster's hands, hoping that's enough to help, even just a little. To know someone's there for him.
