Adam has gotten used to people stumbling into his performances, so the round of applause is almost expected when he ends his latest song. People are so ridiculously polite, insisting on applauding for music just because it’s been arranged by someone they know instead of on the merit of whether they enjoyed it. Not all tastes are the same, are they? People are strange, but Adam shouldn’t be rude. Instead, he’s already wearing his polite smile when he turns and is rather shocked to see not just a child, but a copy of them with no face, staring uncomfortably with an unblinking eye. He looks between the two of them for a few moments, trying to gauge the similarities.

Eventually, he realizes he hasn’t answered them, and he forces himself to smile again. “Ah… thank you.”
