It's true, such mellow skeletons are still taking just a bit of getting used to. (And, admittedly, Lucas gets really wrapped up when it comes to cooking things too...) But Sans is most definitely a friend, qualified twice-over with Frisk's approval and their last conversation about jokes and hot dogs and history combined. With the initial surprise quickly wearing off now, Lucas is very pleased to run into Sans again, if the small smile he gives the latter in return is any indication.
Family does seem to be a weighty topic anymore. Lucas finds some aspects of it a lot easier to talk about than others, but even after all this time, mentioning Mom offhand still feels--heavy. Even if it'd sort of slipped out before he could think about it, this time. Still, the lack of comment is appreciated for now.
Drifting over to the pot on the stove, Lucas picks up a spoon but glances back over to Sans before doing anything with it just yet, eyebrows coming together in bemusement at the sheer oddness of the question. "Growing? Well--yes, I think so. Most people I know back home are still taller than me because they're older. Like Duster...he's--" Lucas pauses, reaching back in his memory and then gesturing with his free hand, which he raises pretty much full arm's-length over his head. "About up there. And Dad is, too. But they're adults, so it makes sense...I think you stop growing once you're an adult." Absentmindedly, Lucas begins stirring the stew with his spoon, but a small and thoughtful frown crosses his features. "Well...unless you're old Leder, I guess. I'm not sure if he ever stopped growing."
