A great deal of tension bleeds out of Chara. They love animals, when they aren't battling to the death, and while animal monsters rank a little lower for that reason, they are still much better than humans or monsters that aren't, in Chara's book.
They pet with some care and a knowledge of the good spots on dogs and cats, and can only hope that translates well - the headpushing is a good sign at least, and their Frisk makes grabby hands and puppy dog eyes at the thought of soft. Chara sends some of the texture their way, and they sigh.

Let's not, thanks. That might count as somewhat overfamiliar, especially when their... leader? Is right there. They do bring a second hand into the petting, though, kneeling down for better access.
They almost miss the glances at the frying pan - they definitely miss the first few, what with both of them being focused on *Pet. Eventually though, the movement does ping, and they look up, glancing from bandanna-Frisk to the drying frying pan. Frisk takes advantage of their distraction to get an offhand permission and start patting Needles with Chara's hands themself (their pets are more firm and decisive) while Chara speaks.
"What?"
It's perfectly normal to carry things like this around everywhere in case you need healing (not that this one does that). What's with that look?
