Giles doesn't actually spend a lot of time near the aviary. Mostly because he finds the peacocks mildly terrifying at best. But he's out in the garden and near enough to the building in question to overhear the commotion, and know that even the most agitated birds couldn't possibly cause that much of a fuss.
He's been in this situation enough times to know that whether it's a newcomer, a fight, or both, the situation warrants investigation. So Giles hastens over as quickly as he can when cutting a path through the fairly dense undergrowth, finally stumbling to a stop at the door of the aviary. He casts a wary glance around for people or peacocks, finally calling out:
