[After recent events, it's perhaps understandable that the stairs give them pause, and they briefly hesitate on the first step. They slow a little too, maintaining a distance between them and making sure they have good footing. They don't make the same mistakes twice.
Their expression twists and their eyes narrow with irritation as they start getting pelted with food. You're just wasting it, other self, and it annoys them. It's not going to stop them, and they managed to avoid some, get struck with others, and even cut one or two away with the knife like this is a real life game of fruit ninja as they advance. There's only so much that can be carried, and they'll run out eventually.
Throwing these things slows down the other Chara, but this Chara simply matches the speed. They're not going to get close while in this position, but presumably these stairs end somewhere and there, they plan to close the distance.]
