Grune is very glad to see Toshi here, too. Last month wasn't very nice for him, and she knows he hasn't been feeling well. He's very brave to come here even though he's shy.
Rather than call out when she's across the room, Grune waits until she's closer to say, "Hello, Toshi, dear. How are you feeling?"
