What does he care about offending some child? Half his mind is elsewhere, worrying (worrying! still!) about someone else.
And yet he shouldn't make enemies. He doesn't want to, really, in a small confined space where he's probably going to wither away and die. Odds are his magic will fade first. Why make it miserable for himself?
His demeanor slowly turns a little friendlier. Just don't mind the fangs and claws. You're a human. Aren't you? When the magic here isn't messing with your looks?
