He wasn't expecting his healing to help Frisk entirely. He knows his healing abilities are more tuned towards monsters, and towards Sans-Serif specifically. But at least it did something instead of backfiring, so he doesn't feel like he should run away again.

He doesn't know much about humans, but they're so small, it's hard to believe they'd be able to handle a serious battle.
