And 'beam' is also what Femio does when the other teenager returns his Francais, but it falters at that last part. In fact, Femio's entire pose does, for a moment- his shoulders droop and he gives Ryoji a startled blink.
"But-" Femio starts to say, then clears his throat. He continues, in a stronger tone, "But then, who was it that abducted me?"
