"An' you know, we're the first people who died here, too." Had they said so before? Probably, when they were talking about the graves. The consequences, though--happily is relative because of that.
Frisk's not exactly sorry that they were the first to die, or that Chara was the second. They're used to it, Chara's used to it, they can handle it better than anyone else in the castle could've. But if someone else had before, or if Frisk had in some other way...people wouldn't have had to freak out so badly.
