Chara's status as a mortal is, admittedly, in question- but the clank of their knife hitting the floor sends Chara into a sudden panic. Without really thinking about it they immediately begin to thrash twice as hard, clawing and kicking and pulling and even biting if any of Tauriel gets within range.
