pokémon moon spoilers
The smooth stone beneath her feet shifts to grass. That's a little strange.
The sky goes from dark and star-speckled to...not quite sunny, but clearly day. That's more like it.
Nebbie escapes their Ball and flutters above her, making excited chirping noises at the wall in front of them both.

They look back at her, glee and curiosity pressing against her mind. Did you do this? Where are we? This is new! ♪
Moon's climbed the Altar of the Moon and Mount Lanakila enough to recognize clouds at her level, but this is obviously neither. The ruins of Poni don't look anything like this worn wall, or the parapets she can barely see high above. That looks more like...a Kalos thing. Did she walk into an alternate version of there?
Nebbie calls to her again, flying up and over until Moon can't see her at all. Green, grass, soft! she hears.
...Nebbie does not come back.
Moon's smile doesn't falter. It's more of a chance to look around this new space, after all, and Nebbie can handle themselves.
She adjusts her hat and heads into the first entrance she can find.

He pauses and opens a door they're passing... just another empty bedroom, very very dusty.
no subject
Very tempted.
...
She wanders in like it's natural and drops onto the bed, atop the blankets and all. It's a bad habit, but Moon finds she learns a lot testing beds.
It's very soft, but incredibly musty. It's nearly sad how long nobody's used it...
And then she hops up again. "It looks like a museum."
no subject
His poor pronunciation really makes no sense. Oh, well, walking talking skeleton.
"There are cleaner rooms."
no subject
She brushes herself off, looking around a little more. There are minuscule cobwebs in the corners. A desk with paper--scrolls, but there's no writing at all. A bucket, empty of anything but rings of old waterstains.
Oh well, there's plenty of other rooms to explore, aren't there?
no subject
Laughter in his voice, as he watches them explore. Not the dangerous sort of human child, he thinks.
"Comlicated skeleton... thing. I don't hear myself the way you hear me. Never sure what I'm s-saying."
no subject
Moon understands. "You don't have ears."
...But he can hear her, so...maybe she doesn't.
no subject
Absolutely he could give a better explanation, if she weren't new and needing more important things explained, if he had the patience to truly speak freely. If.
Oh, well, she seems laid-back.
no subject
She's got more important things to do than interrogate a skeleton how it talks--Moon starts walking away again, a little faster. Maybe he'll be able to keep up, maybe he won't; she'll be keeping an ear out to see which is which, but she's not going to slow down just for him.
no subject
Well. Either he's making her nervous after all, having the sheer nerve to stand around looking like the undead, or she's worried about her friend.
He doesn't need to walk any faster. He cheats. Suddenly, he's opening a door she's passing, just wide enough to grin at her. Shortcuts!
(A little immature, but funny. Soon he probably won't feel up to being amusing.)
"Rather explore alone?"
i am so sorry her replies are not much to work with |'D
Nothing.
That's...disconcerting.
"What?"
I can stop!
"You can tell me to go away."
nuuu
"Are you a ghost?"
no subject
Only half a lie. The Mettatons aren't really ghosts these days, and she'll hopefully have forgotten by the time she finds out. If she does.
no subject
Hm. She doesn't like it when things move through space in ways they aren't supposed to. She doesn't acknowledge this sudden thought of unease in the least.
no subject
One of those is probably right. Points for effort and for not giving up yet.
"Skeleton magic, or family magic. Not sure which."
no subject
Skeletons that walk and say they can't talk, and who think they aren't ghosts, and have moves called magic.
"That's very different..."
no subject
no subject
He looks like a Ghost and sort of sounds weird, also like a Ghost. So he's a Ghost, end of story.

She falls silent abruptly enough to be uncomfortable. That's quite the explanation from Moon's mouth. And Nebbie's Psychic, but they don't know how to Teleport either.
Still, they're getting closer--she's barely walking forward, but Nebbie's presence is growing, a twinkling on the edge of her brain. Impatient, curious.
no subject
"No monster can read minds that I've heard of, and I can't go through walls. We have to be from d-different places."
no subject
"Different dimensions are different," she intones.
From not so far away, a noise echoes through the handful of open (and broken) windows.
"There's my friend."
Something splinters behind the clouds; Moon turns away and jogs out to find out what broke.
A door. Nebbie forgot themselves and slapped it down with the metallic scythe on their wings, and they're staring down at it, surprise in their eyes and the whirling stars in the dome of their head.
no subject
He's cut off by Nebbie's arrival, up there, and Moon simply running off. Not a problem. His ankle is still being awkwardly immobile, so he shortcuts ahead to join her. Nebbie's appearance only gets a chuckle from him, their expression at having busted a door is amusing. And, of course, growing up in the Underground, no body shape even registers as strange to him.
"Hello."
no subject
Moon quickly gets in front of the nearest one, putting her hand on the golden bit and examining the shimmering purple around it. Just because Nebbie can be incorporeal doesn't mean there's no injury possible, and there might be splinters.
Nebbie sings at him, slipping thoughts into his head: two human hands waving in the shape of a rainbow, like Moon's done before, and an impression of flying above the sea in deep moonlight--excited cheer! Hello, hello, this is neat!
