Droplets fly through the air and there's a red sheen on the blade of their knife, and for some reason the sight of it startles Chara, enough that they drop their hold on the other child's wrist without even realizing it.

They weren't expecting the other child to bleed, and after the initial surprise wears off their first thought is... Are you an idiot? Of course they're bleeding, they're not a monster. They're just a human. A dirty, lying human.

Wide, empty red eyes return the other child's gaze. Chara raises their knife and rushes forward once more.
