Completely. No movement, no blinking, no breath, because it's been knocked out of them and they can apparently just do that now, stop breathing like it's something normal. They're not sure which is stranger, their new ability, or being called that.
"Not a boy," they say, once they manage to start it up again. "Or a girl. Just a kid. Called 'they'. There's a bunch of people like that here. Jus'...so you don't...forget."
They slip forward until their toes are touching the floor. The window they were leaning against is warm, and they might be tempted to relax again, and that might be a bad idea. "And, um, yeah. I live here. A lot of people do, and monsters, but they're nice, don't fight them." Immediate warning along with a sharp glare--a baring of teeth too, looking like more of a threat than they mean it to be. "The Castle took us."
