Well. He's certainly done less pleasant work, for the sake of researching strange happenings. As Giles regards the table, though, that less pleasant work is small comfort. He is much too old to be eating like this. Especially without some tea.

He might slip away to retrieve some from the kitchens at some point, but otherwise, he'll do his part by trying to select whatever doesn't look too corrosively sugary. Though, Giles will still probably eventually get distracted examining the jewels instead, squinting at them through his glasses. The design seems very odd, but he can't put his finger on how...
