Chihiro had actually gotten an advance explanation of Sans' plan from Sans himself, mostly due to the fact that a skeleton popping up in front of her had almost finished the job that the last two hours or so in the castle had started. Needless to say, being told "come to this place and eat strange food" had not sat well with the girl. She'd tried to point out that she had no money. The skeleton had told her it was fine, and upon seeing that Chihiro clearly didn't believe him, had asked for a joke instead.
