Even if it's purely for the sake of expression, it's effectively done. So far, Toshi is averting the Uncanny Valley that Cis inhabited just by existing. It takes a lot of little touches to create a believably human effect, even if they're all seemingly irrelevant on their own. The rise in color, coupled with the smile, does a lot to add to that effect - to make him seem more human, and thus put Kotetsu a little more at ease.

"So Bunny and Saito handle all the science, and I handle the really obvious nicknames?" He snorts wryly in amusement. "Yeah, that sounds like me." At least "Toshi" was obviously meant as a proper name, whereas "Bunny" just kind of wound up sticking to Barnaby. And despite the fact that he really, truly doesn't know the android, Kotetsu catches himself feeling a flash of pride that he himself gave Toshi something he's apparently proud of. It's almost certainly a lot catcher than whatever his model number was, after all.

But if Barnaby didn't build this guy, Kotetsu wonders who did. Rothwang, probably, but why? Maybe on Maverick's orders. Probably just another way he was going to try and get to Bunny. Yeah, that makes sense.

"...mind if I ask you why you happen to look just like me, then?" Despite his increasing certainty that Toshi is not hostile, the resemblance is still disconcerting to Kotetsu. A proper answer might help settle his nerves, or so he hopes. "I mean, it's a nice face, don't get me wrong."
