And Ryoji, of course, is right behind him, trying his best to grab Watts' arm and support him, even if the doctor keeps shoving him away. Eventually, they get separated in the darkness of the forest, and Ryoji can only blindly stumble through the trees, calling out with increasing worry.

"Watts-san, please! You're going to hurt something and-"

He's cut off when he bumps into something, and he's relieved to discover it's Watts, but as he looks over the man's shoulder, that relief quickly disappears. Something is out here. A... monster. Something not unlike the thing he was when he first got here. He shivers and pushes in front of Watts, taking a protective stance. He can't afford to let someone get attacked by this thing, but he's still hesitant. At least he hasn't transformed yet.
